| Sixty elderly from St. Frances Xavier Home for the Aged, Betania Elderly Home and St. Mary Elderly Home were invited to visit The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel this afternoon. The activities today are helped to support the Annual Macao Tour organized by Caritas Macau for the elderly, it serves as an excellent opportunity for the elderly to broaden and enrich their life experiences. These elderly, aged over sixty-five were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff when they arrived the hotel lobby of The Venetian® Macao at 3:00pm today.
They were first visited The Grand Canal Shoppes and had an afternoon tea at Bambu afterwards. As the Mid-Autumn Festival is fast approaching, The Venetian® had presented moon cakes to the elderly to celebrate the festive season; they all had an enjoyable time.
Escorted by the Venetian volunteer staff, the elderly went to the Grand Canal Shoppes after they arrived at The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel. They were amazed when they looked upon the Venetian blue sky and all felt it was such a wonderful day. They strolled along the streets and were attracted to the serenading gondoliers who swayed the gondolas gently down the canals. After the tour, they proceeded to Bambu and enjoyed the afternoon tea hosted by the hotel. As a gesture of appreciation, moon cakes were distributed to the elderly so that they could celebrate the traditional festival with other. They showed great interests and enjoyment in the tour and expressed thanks while spending the afternoon at The Venetian®.
The three elderly centers are operated by Caritas Macau. The centers provide comfortable living environment for the elderly, with services encompassing meals and lodging, rehabilitation therapy, nursing and personal care.
